I heard that there was a fight between students at the middle school during school hours on Monday, resulting in a student being taken out by stretcher to the hospital and the police being called. Is it typical for the school to keep something like this quiet? No note home, nothing on the school website. I'm wondering how this is typically handled.
(This is information from various students who attend the middle school...the stories seem to be pretty much the same.) |

I heard of one at the high school this week, just outside the office of the resource officer, two students, lots of punches broken up by a teacher. _________________ Le Canard |

I, too, heard about the fight at the Middle School.
The police were present after the incident occurred.
We were wondering if Assault Charges were going to be filed.
Probably not, the school suspended the "puncher" for a week is what I heard. I'm sure the Administration feels that this is punishment enough.
Cumbya everyone, cumbya...let's all feel good about this.
The school has spent all year teaching Respect, Responsibilty, and Right Choices as their core values...guess it didn't work.
The student who did the punching was an 8th grader, the student receiving the punch was a 7th grader, from what I heard. |

Yes. The less the public knows, the better. |

Nothing new here people move along.
If the school told us about every fight that happened they would have to hire another person to do the paperwork.
The MS will probably have ANOTHER assembly asking us all to just get along. |

When I was in school, they taught the other three R's -- Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic. _________________ "I've been teaching here for 20 years so please don't assume that kids can add, subtract, multiply and divide integers without problems. Not allowed any more. If student A can read Harry Potter and student B in the same grade is not capable of reading Harry Potter, Student B does not feel good about themselves. Instead Teacher reads the book to all so no one feels bad. |
