| The district website posted a Notice of Meeting for Tuesday, May 20, 7PM at the SAU. Work session is board communication. Does anyone know what this meeting is about? |

Not sure, but I think that the RSA they mentioned is the one they went into non-public session for at the last meeting.
Will it be broadcast? |

| Generally work sessions are meetings with a limited agenda to address a particular topic. My guess is this one is to talk about how the board communicates either with each other or the public. Open meeting laws mean that elected board have to be careful about communication among the members outside of meetings. |

I have posted this notice under BS as well.
Agenda for June 4 School Board Meeting
Worth watching and/or recording. Block Scheduling is on the agenda. Hmmm, I thought that it would not be presented again until the fall. Some other interesting topics include sabbitical and retirement withdrawl, bus schedule, facilities audit, and federal funding. |

| I would expect that an item like Block Scheduling would stay on the agenda as old/ongoing business until it was settled even if there was nothing more than "we're still looking into it" as the report. That is just standard practice for most boards to make sure things do not get dropped and forgotten. |

Dear Mr. Bealo,
The study on block scheduling will continue as stated earlier. However, Board members like to be updated from time to time as information develops.
I appreciate your interest.
Respectfully,
William M. Baldwin

Subject: June 4 SB agenda - Block scheduling
I see that BS is on the agenda for the next SB meeting. I was under the impression that BS was to be studied until September, and nothing else regarding it done in the meantime. Has something changed?
Could you tell me what the discussion will be about? I hope no votes will be taken to allow more money to be spent on BS until all facts are in and the costs/risks/opportunities fully fleshed out. If there is any request for additional $$ for training or consultants I hope that, as my SB reps, you will vote "NO".
Also, please free to join the Timberlane Parerent's forum at:
http://timberlaneschools.forumsland.com . BS is not the only topic, but it is the most active, and some of it may be of interest to you.
Thank you,
Peter Bealo |

As I watched tonight's SB meeting, I was prepared for the non-public session black out while the replacement Atkinson Academy principal was to be interviewed. When the video came back, instead of tonight's meeting, the airing of the final minutes of the May 8th school board meeting is on instead. Tricky Was this planned? If I wait to watch a rerun of the meeting, will I actually see the end of tonight's meeting? I guess I'll be looking next week for reruns |

Did anyone see the last SB meeting, June 19th? I missed the first 30 minutes and became involved with final exam discussions during the request for the Superintendent to grant tuition approval without consent of the board during the summer which btw passed unanimously. Did the motion included the ability to grant discounted tuition to town employees that do not have live in the district? I hope not!
In the last 3 SB meeting, LaSalle has requested 3 times the ability to grant approval without involving the school board for 3 different but specific circumstances. Hmmm.......... |
