I do not profess to understand this whole issue, but Neil R. asked me to put this up on the forum. Those who know what's going on, please feel free to have at it.

Peter

Hi all,

The coaches for the Timberlane Ski team, Pete and Mary Beth Torosian, are being 'dismissed' by the new athletic director, after founding and leading the team for 12 years. My son Mike has been fortunate enough to have had these remarkable people as his coaches for his four years in high school, and their influence in his life is considerable.

I could go on and on about the selfless contribution, time, energy, money, and everything else Pete and Mary Beth have put into the program. Their motivation to develop our youth into not just ski racers, but successful adults has been a tremendous benefit to our community for many years.

We the parents of the current year ski team members are taking a stand against this outrageous act. We went before the school board on Thursday, and were met with obstinance from the Superintendent, and inaction by the board. We have formally requested to be on the agenda for the last board meeting of the school year on June 18th. We are collecting signatures on a petition to show the board that the community demands action (copy attached).

You can watch yesterday's WMUR coverage of this here: http://www.wmur.com/news/19671582/detail.html
or the Eagle Tribune's article here: http://www.eagletribune.com/punewsnh/local_story_156013655.html

If you and/or family, friends, and neighbors would be interested in signing this petition, let me know and I'd be happy to come over and get your signatures.

Thanks,
Neil Rabideau

Petition:
We, the undersigned students, parents, alumni and supporters of the Timberlane Ski Team have signed this petition in response to the recent dismissal of the current Timberlane Ski Team Coaches, Peter and Marybeth Torosian. We hereby petition the Timberlnae Regional School Board to reconsider this decision and immediately reinstate the Torosians in light of their twelve years of selfless dedication to the Timberlane Ski Team and the overall excellent success of the program and the development of the students.

Just watched this (school board 6/4/09). Anyone know what is going on here? Recognized by local papers, appreciated by the kids, and supported by the parents. These people DONATED their stipends to the booster club and bought hardware for the team with their own money.

Couldn't we fire the consultant or one of the pedophiles to hang on to these gems?

Head Track Coach also announced this week he was also not coming back next year. Are there more we do not know about?

Would anyone on the school board even think to remember to ask if the sports consultant is still being paid and what tasks he was assigned or completed?

FYI, the schoolboard agenda and a script for the chair is provided by the SAU.

There is a petition being floated around to get the ski instructors re-instated. My neighbor's on the ski team and is desperately trying to get them back. To me, that says enough. Please support this petition.
